Description
A well-established plaintiff-side Workers’ Compensation law firm in Las Vegas is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Managing Attorney to lead and grow its Workers’ Compensation division.
This is a leadership opportunity for an attorney who is equally comfortable advocating for injured workers, managing active litigation and hearings, developing attorneys and staff, improving department systems, and driving accountability within a high-volume legal practice.
The ideal candidate will bring Nevada Workers’ Compensation experience, strong legal judgment, operational discipline, and a genuine commitment to helping injured workers obtain the benefits, medical care, and compensation they deserve.
The Managing Attorney will oversee the Workers’ Compensation division in partnership with the Case Management Team Lead and will report directly to the COO and Managing Partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the Workers’ Compensation division, including an associate attorney, paralegals, case managers, and support staff, in collaboration with the Claims Management Team Lead.
- Maintain an active caseload, including hearings, litigation strategy, client communication, and case progression.
- Provide legal oversight and quality control for Workers’ Compensation matters from intake through resolution.
- Represent injured workers in Nevada Workers’ Compensation proceedings, hearings, and related litigation matters.
- Develop, refine, and enforce division-wide systems, SOPs, workflows, KPIs, and accountability standards.
- Train, mentor, and develop attorneys and staff to improve legal quality, client service, productivity, and consistency.
- Monitor case movement, deadlines, hearing preparation, medical treatment issues, settlement opportunities, and overall file quality.
- Partner with intake, pre-litigation, litigation, operations leadership, and case management teams to ensure efficient handoffs, strong communication, and a consistent client experience.
- Identify process improvements and implement scalable systems to support division growth.
- Support strategic planning for the continued expansion and improvement of the Workers’ Compensation practice.
- Ensure the division operates with professionalism, ethical compliance, strong client advocacy, and a culture of accountability.
- Foster a team environment focused on compassion, excellence, communication, and results.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Nevada.
- Ability to manage an active caseload while leading and developing a legal department.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, case managers, intake staff, litigation teams, and operations leadership.
- Demonstrated commitment to client service, ethical advocacy, and achieving positive outcomes for injured workers.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of Nevada Workers’ Compensation experience.
- Prior leadership, management, or supervisory experience within a legal environment.
- Experience handling Nevada Workers’ Compensation hearings, appeals, and claims litigation.
- Plaintiff-side or claimant-side Workers’ Compensation experience.
- Experience developing and implementing legal workflows, SOPs, KPIs, training programs, and performance accountability systems.
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced legal practice.
