Description
Jones, Kuriloff & Sargent, LLC is a boutique law office in coastal Maine specializing in estate planning, elder law, trust administration, corporate services, real estate, and probate. We are seeking applications for an Associate Attorney. The staff currently consists of four attorneys, six paralegals, three legal assistants, and an office manager. Qualifications for this position include a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school, 3-5 years of legal experience, admission to practice law in Maine, a commitment to live and work in Downeast Maine, and a passion for helping clients. Applicants with less experience may still be considered. We encourage you to learn more about us on our website: www.jks.legal.
This is a full-time position in a pleasant office environment with wonderful people and a business casual dress code as appropriate. There is some ability to work remotely or have moderately flexible hours. Attorneys have private office space, shared client meeting rooms, and a team of non-legal staff to rely on. Most client meetings are in person; there is also ability to conduct via video or phone, or occasional travel to a client’s home or medical facility. Due to the nature of this type of law, our attorneys are not often in courtrooms. Each attorney has the ability to structure and shape his/her own practice, but can also utilize best practices already in place. Our goal is to do meaningful transactional work while also maintaining a practical work/life balance. If community service is of interest, good news: we frequently find ourselves saying yes to opportunities that come our way.
We’re honored that two of our attorneys have been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® 2026, one of the most respected peer-review awards in the legal profession, and the firm is recognized as well.
